Sorry if this has been addressed before but I'm not really sure how the FBI name check works.
Is that something we all go through or is it at random? Where can we go to see if we are in the process of going through that or if we have gotten passed it already.

I filed on july 23rd got ead & AP but did not get FP. After reading this thread and seeing the patterns i think that if your application is processed by the center where it has to originally go then you get your FP quickly but in cases where your application went to original center and then that center sent to other centers for EAD and/or AP then their FP's is getting delayed, like my self.
I also have another problem. I changed address just after applying for I-485.I think FP is NOT dependent on PD's and or address change.
This is just my 2 cents.

I am not sure about how many cheques and the amounts on it since everything is done by my company attorney. However, last week we had a chineese guy here in this forum who got this 485 back and one of his cheque was encashed. Also the reason for the return is the non-availability of VISA numbers. He will send it back again, but my point is the clearance of single cheque is not the indication of acceptance of you app.
They've already said to give them until Aug 1st for June filers. Then they will focus on July filers. Simple as that. If your checks aren't cashed by Aug 1/2 for a June filer, then perhaps you have reason to call. If your checks are cashed, then YOU'RE IN, no need to call. Whatever you need is in the mail. If you don't get it by frst week of august, then call.

I think a employee of immigration service center should get $100 bonus for completing one application. This will definitely improve their productivity.

I found some things in our favor:
1. Cap exempt H1B holders can now work for cap subject employer CONCURRENTLY without being counted to cap
2. 3 year H1B extension based on approved I-140 can be as many times as needed, not 'one time' only
3. Once you have an approved I-140, you will never be subject to H1B cap:
(4) Exemptions to Limitations of Stay. The limitation on the total period of stay does not apply to H-1B aliens when, as of the date of filing the extension request:

The alien is the beneficiary of an approved EB immigration petition and is not able to file to adjust status to U.S. permanent legal residence based on the unavailability of an immigrant visa number.

my lawyers filed for AOS (for my wife and me) on july 2nd in NSC. still dont have any reciepts/ead/ap etc. i have no idea why. my i-140 was approved in TSC. i was hoping that i'd get the reciepts since everyone seems to be getting them!

you are assuming he has applied for 485. If he has not, (ie. started labor in 2004) then until atleast July he would be in the same boat. If his LC is still in BEC (remember 30K are still stuck there); then all of this applies to him even after July VB fiasco!

guys cool down it took them till end of May about 2 months to issue all receipt notices for H1 filed on Apr 2 this year. With the whole yes-no-yes situation this month they are definitely backlogged. Lets just wait till we actually get the receipts .

Only a regular Lou Dobbs watcher will know, Lou never read a negative message posted by audiance on his show, and he will read only those messages who are racist, and literally hates immigrants.
My experience is sending messages to the person whom we are going to target won't help. We need to counter attack using a different and equally powerful channel. The negative comments we post on Lou Dobbs and CNN are never posted or maybe never read to the end.

Hello all..
In what circumstances does the USCIS issue a H1B approval without the i194 reciept in the bottom..?
that will be a worse scenario if we have to leave the country and face that stupid Madras embassy(my worst nightmare..) for the H1 stamping...!!
I don't want to fall from the pan into the fire..!!
I think in these cases it will be an Change of Status situation..
